The New Hest Logo: From Robot to Flame
Hest has a new logo. Here's the story behind the change, from our robot mascot roots to the life-sustaining fires of Hestia, the Greek goddess of hearth, home, and hospitality.

If you've opened Hest recently, you may have noticed something different. The friendly robot mascot is gone. In its place is a new H logo, one shaped by flame, warmth, and the ancient idea that a home is kept alive by the fire at its center.
Today we want to share why we made this change and what it means for Hest going forward.
Where the Name "Hest" Comes From
From the very beginning, Hest has been inspired by Hestia, the Greek goddess of the hearth, home, and hospitality. In ancient Greece, Hestia was the quiet, indispensable force that kept a household running. She wasn't the loudest deity on Olympus, but she was arguably the most essential. Every home had a hearth fire dedicated to her, and that fire was never allowed to go out. It represented the warmth, nourishment, and safety of the family.
That's the spirit we've always wanted Hest to carry. Not flashy. Not loud. Just deeply, reliably useful to the people who keep a household together.
Why We Started with a Robot
So if Hest was always inspired by Hestia, why did we launch with a robot mascot?
Because part of the problem we set out to solve felt like it needed a Rosie.
If you grew up watching The Jetsons, you know Rosie the Robot, the Jetson family's tireless household helper. Rosie was a housekeeper, a cook, and a surrogate aunt to the children all rolled into one. She kept the household running with warmth and reliability, and she did it all without complaint.
That narrative resonated with us early on. Households do need a Rosie. Something that handles the coordination, remembers the details, and keeps everyone on the same page. When we were building the first version of Hest, the robot mascot felt like a natural fit. It represented the helpful, always-on assistant that we imagined Hest could be.
Why We Moved On
As Hest grew, we realized the robot metaphor only told half the story. Rosie is wonderful, but at the end of the day she's a servant. A machine that executes tasks. Hest isn't just a task runner. It's the center of your household: the place where your family's calendar lives, where meals get planned, where responsibilities are shared, and where important records are kept safe.
That's not a robot's job. That's a hearth's job.
The hearth was the literal and symbolic center of the ancient home. It was where food was prepared, where the family gathered, and where warmth radiated outward to every corner of the house. Without it, the home wasn't a home. It was just a structure.
We wanted our identity to reflect that deeper purpose. Not an assistant that serves you, but a fire that sustains you.
The New H Logo
The new Hest H is designed to evoke the life-sustaining fires at the center of every home. The letterform carries the energy and movement of a flame, a subtle reminder that Hest exists to keep your household alive and thriving.
It's a more honest representation of what Hest has always been about:
- Warmth. Hest is built for real families, with real needs, coordinating real life together.
- Sustenance. Like the hearth fire that never goes out, Hest is always there. Managing your calendar, tracking your tasks, holding your meal plans, and safeguarding your records.
- Togetherness. The hearth was where the family gathered. Hest is where your household comes together digitally.
A Name and Identity, Fully Aligned
The truth is, the robot mascot served us well. It got us through the early days and helped people understand that Hest was here to help. But the name Hest was always pointing somewhere deeper. Toward Hestia. Toward the hearth. Toward the fire that makes a house a home.
Now our logo tells the same story our name has been telling all along.
What Doesn't Change
Everything you love about Hest stays the same. The shared calendars, the task assignments, the meal planning, the recipe library, the household records. All of it is still here, still syncing in real time, still private and ad-free.
The only thing that changed is the face. And we think the new one fits better.
